The Green Slate - Environmental Protection and Preservation
Green Slate always seeks the closest possible cooperation with federal, state and local environmental protection agencies and implements long term projects for the fulfillment of the soundest principles of environmental protection at its quarries and plants, clean water, protecting water sources and ciliary forests, preserving native fauna and flora and undertaking reforesting projects.

Recovery of quarrying areas
The Pompeu Velho quarry has been opened recently (2004). Quarrying at current levels is expected to last approximately 50 years.
This computer-design simulation of the recovered Pompeu Velho quarrying area is based on plans already in place for its comprehensive environmental recovery, comprising a revegetated debris mound, a lake in the quarry pit for fish-farming and irrigation and an extensive green meadow.
